Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on 13th July 2010 donated KShs. 500,000 to the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KENGEN) to support the Great Turkwel Race in West Pokot. Commissioner General Mr. M G. Waweru presented the donation to the KENGEN’s Managing Director Mr. Eddy Njoroge  in a function attended by senior KRA and KENGEN officials at Times Tower offices Nairobi.

The CG said that the KRA has been sponsoring similar ventures for the last three years in support of youth development in the country in recognition of the importance of the young generation in development. ‘A herd without young ones has no future.’ Mr. Waweru said while stressing on the importance of nurturing the youth to enable them build the nation.  Mr. Njoroge thanked KRA for being the first public institution to sign up  for the race, adding that the its donation will go a long way in sensitising people in Turkwel, West Pokot and environs on the importance of peace in nation building.
