Kra Holds Session wiith Cyber Cafes

The Domestic Taxes Department of Kenya Revenue Authority had a Sensitisation session for Cyber Cafes at the Authority’s Convention Centre in Nairobi.  Over 150 cyber cafes were represented.  The session was aimed at sensitizing the cares on KRA Online service.  Since a significant number of taxpayers do not have their own computers, the cyber cafes are expected to fill this void.  Kenya has an elaborate network, of cyber cafes countrywide which is expected to play a major role d in enabling taxpayer’s access online services.  Plans are underway to hold similar sessions across the country in the e month of April.  Following a surge in the demand for access to KRA Online services, a number of cybercafés have taken the liberty to introduce exorbitant charges relating to the services.  KRA has since cautioned taxpayers not to pay fees other than then normal charges levied by cyber cafes.
