Kenya Revenue Authority wishes to inform all the rate payers
within the jurisdiction of Municipal Council of Mombasa to make
immediate arrangements to clear all outstanding land rates by
Friday, 15th April 2005. Ratepayers are advised to obtain their
Personal Identification Number (PIN) at the nearest Kenya Revenue
Authority office.
After the deadline, Kenya Revenue Authority will enforce payment
of any land rates outstanding using machinery at its disposal
without any further reference to the defaulters.
The Authority would further wish to remind the rate payers that
payment may be made at any branch of Kenya Commercial Bank Limited
countrywide. Pay-in slips are available at the banks and are
to be used as follows:-
- Take your rates demand note with you to the bank and complete
pay–in slip in quadruplicate.
- Each pay-in slip will be completed at the bank in quadruplicate
immediately the bill(s) are received by the land rate payers
from the Municipal Council.
- Make payments by cash, banker's cheque or bank guaranteed
cheques payable to ‘Commissioner of Domestic Taxes,
Land Rates Collection Account – ‘Name of Ratable
Owner’.
- The original (White) will be retained by the person paying
land rates as proof of payment, but will be authenticated
by the duplicate copy.
- The duplicate (Blue) copy will be forwarded to the Municipal
Council by the bank for their records.
- The triplicate (Green) copy will be forwarded to the Commissioner
of Domestic Taxes by the bank.
- The quadruplicate (Yellow) copy will be retained by the
bank for their records.
Kenya Revenue Authority appeals to all land rate payers to fully
comply with this notice to avoid any inconveniences that may
be caused by the enforcement actions to be taken.
